Surging 76ers eying fourth straight win
Nov 19, 2008 - 11:20 AM Philadelphia (5-5) at Minnesota (1-8) 8:00 p.m. ESTMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers certainly know how to bounce back.
The 76ers go for their fourth straight win on Wednesday when they visit the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves.
Philadelphia has won three straight, including a 110-85 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, after dropping each of its previous three games.
The 76ers endured a season-opening setback to the Toronto Raptors, but rebounded with a 29-point drubbing against the New York Knicks two nights later.
Philadelphia followed that rout with a loss to the Atlanta Hawks, but once again turned its play around in a hurry, trouncing the Sacramento Kings, 125-91, on November 3 - two days before it dropped a 106-83 decision to the Miami Heat en route to their first losing streak of the season.
The Timberwolves have yet to enjoy a winning streak in 2008-09 and enters Wednesday's contests on an eight-game slide.
Minnesota forged a 98-96 victory over the Kings during its campaign opener on October 29, but has yet to find a win in November. The Timberwolves are coming off a 90-84 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday in which they shot 39.7 percent (31-of-78) from the field and committed 19 turnovers.
