Steady Wade leads Heat against Pacers

Nov 22, 2008 - 11:18 AM Indiana (5-6) at Miami (6-6) 7:30 p.m. EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Dwyane Wade is back to showcasing the ability that garnered him the 2006 NBA Finals MVP for the Miami Heat.

The All-Star will look to help the Heat maintain a higher level when they take on the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

Miami, which did not win its seventh game until December 17 last season en route to the league's worst record, has alternated wins and losses in its last eight contests. It will try to avoid consecutive losses for the first time against the Pacers.

Wade's 28.2 points a game trails LeBron James for the NBA lead, but his highest point total of the season was not good enough on Wednesday. The sixth-year guard collected 40 points and 11 assists as the Heat lost to the Toronto Raptors, 101-95.

Indiana nearly ended Orlando's four-game winning streak before falling, 100-98, in overtime on Friday.

Marquis Daniels scored a season-high 25 points and T.J. Ford added 22 points, six rebounds and four assists. Danny Granger struggled from the field, knocking down just 7-of-20 while scoring 21.

The Pacers have lost three of four on the road and will play 10 of their next 13 away from home.
