Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks have been one of the worst teams getting the opening possession. The last time the Knicks won an opening tipoff was November 13th against the Thunder. That gives the Pistons the upper hand in getting the ball first tonight.

Marvin Bagley is one of the most used players in the first quarter. He typically gets the first or second shot for Detroit. Defensively the Knicks have struggled early on. The combination of open possession, early usage, and the Knick’s defense gives Bagley plenty of betting value.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Golden State Warriors

The Dallas Mavericks have been the better of these teams at winning the opening possession. The Warriors do not have the height and are inconsistent during the tipoff. That will allow the Mavericks to get the first opportunity to shoot the basketball.

The Mavericks rely heavily on Luka Doncic to score. He is the best scorer on the team and one of the best in the NBA. Doncic also gets the first look before anyone else on the team. Combine those things, and Luka has the most opportunity to score first.

Portland Trailblazers vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Both of these teams have yet to be consistent in winning the tipoff. That makes this matchup more difficult in picking the player to score the first basket. That means lower the number of units you bet, but know there is still value in this matchup.

Luke Kennard, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard are all out for the Clippers. That gives Portland the most consistency in player scoring tonight. The two players that score the most for the Trailblazers are Jerami Grant and Anfernee Simons. Jerami Grant has had the hot hand lately, which means Grant will get the most looks tonight. Grant has the most opportunity tonight to score the first basket.
