Pistons look to rebound against lowly Timberwolves
Nov 23, 2008 - 7:44 AM Minnesota (2-9) at Detroit (8-4), 6:00 p.m. ESTAUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons hope to avoid a second straight loss when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.
Detroit was pounded, 98-80, by the Boston Celtics on Thursday, one night after snapping the Cleveland Cavaliers' eight-game winning streak.
The loss dropped the Pistons to 4-4 since they acquired Allen Iverson, who is averaging 19.2 points with his new team.
Avoiding back-to-back losses for just the second time may come easier against Minnesota, which is 0-5 on the road.
The Timberwolves do not appear to be any better in year No. 2 of the post-Kevin Garnett era.
Minnesota was defeated by Boston in Garnett's return to the Target Center, 95-78, on Friday.
Al Jefferson leads the Timberwolves with 22.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
