Dallas Mavericks @ Detroit Pistons (+8 | O/U: 221.5)

The only game tonight is a difficult one to find a bet on, as neither Dallas nor Detroit has been favorable to bettors this season. Following their thrilling victory over Golden State on Tuesday night, the inclination to back the Mavericks here is understandable but shortsighted. 

Dallas has the worst record ATS in the NBA (5-14-1), and the Mavs have yet to cover following a win. They tend to let down in these spots and have been streaking the wrong way on the road this season (1-7 SU). Detroit doesn’t seem to live on the moneyline considering its stature in the league, but the Pistons have been respectable ATS (11-9-3). There is a degree of unknown shrouding the Pistons tonight with both Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey absent, but the number is appealing nonetheless.

On a bare NBA slate, back the Pistons to sneak in a cover at home. This is a prime letdown spot for Dallas, and the number is steaming the Mavericks’ way based on their victory over the Warriors.
