Jazz try to bounce back from rare home loss

Nov 26, 2008 - 11:24 AM Memphis (4-10) at Utah (9-6) 9:00 p.m. EST

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- When playing at home, the Utah Jazz are hard to beat.

The Jazz try to bounce back from a rare loss at EnergySolutions Arena on Wednesday when they host the Memphis Grizzlies.

Utah posted a 37-4 record at home last season - the best mark in the NBA - and appeared headed for a similar showing following six straight wins there to start the campaign. After winning 14 straight and 33 of 34 regular-season games at EnergySolutions Arena, the Jazz dropped a 101-100 decision to the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Derrick Rose's game-winning attempt clanked off the rim, but Larry Hughes grabbed the rebound, stepped up and buried the game-winning 18-footer to deal Utah its first home loss.

The Jazz look to get back on track against the Grizzlies, who have lost each of their last three games and seven of eight overall.

Rookie O.J. Mayo scored 26 points for Memphis, but it was not enough as the team suffered a 94-81 setback to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.

Mayo scored 23 of his points in the second half while Rudy Gay scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Darko Milicic registered 11 points and 11 boards.
