Ginobili, Spurs to face Hughes, Bulls

Nov 26, 2008 - 11:23 AM Chicago (7-8) at San Antonio (7-6) 8:30 p.m. EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Manu Ginobili is back for the San Antonio Spurs, and not a moment too soon.

Ginobili and the Spurs will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they face the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.

San Antonio has had a tough time keeping its star backcourt healthy, with Tony Parker joining Ginobili on the injured list with a left ankle sprain.

Ginobili made his season debut on Monday, scoring 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting in 12 minutes of playing time as the Spurs easily dispatched the Memphis Grizzlies, 94-81.

"The most important thing was the win," Ginobili said. "I felt pretty good about it. I didn't rush it. I took my time to find open teammates. I made some open shots. I am happy with how I did and also what the team did."

One of the most productive players in the NBA last season, Ginobili won the Sixth Man of the Year award and was named third-team All-NBA after averaging 19.5 points per game.

He should see his playing time steadily increase over the next couple of weeks.

The Bulls are coming off one of the more dramatic wins of the season. Guard Larry Hughes, who finished with 15 points, hit a shot at the buzzer to lift Chicago to a 101-100 win over the Utah Jazz.

The Bulls are 2-3 on their current seven-game road trip.
