Yao tries to lead Rockets to fourth straight win

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- With Ron Artest struggling and Tracy McGrady hurting, Yao Ming has been carrying the Houston Rockets lately.

Yao looks keep up his torrid pace and lead the Rockets to a fourth straight win against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

McGrady has been slowed by a sore left knee, and has been playing sparingly. The former scoring champion has scored in single digits in five of 15 games and recently said he may have to stop playing in order to rehabilitate the injury.

Meanwhile, Artest is shooting a career-worst 36 percent from the floor. He made 6-of-15 shots in a 107-98 win over Miami on Monday.

Despite their problems, the Rockets return home after completing a 3-0 road trip. A big reason is Yao, who scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against the Heat and averaged 22.6 points and 10 rebounds during the trek.

The Pacers are looking to rebound from a 109-106 loss to Dallas on Tuesday. Indiana led, 56-49, at halftime but could not close the game out. That has been the story of the Pacers' season, as Indiana has led at halftime in 12 of 13 games.
