Off comeback win, Suns take on Timberwolves

Nov 26, 2008 - 11:21 AM Phoenix (10-5) at Minnesota (3-9) 8:00 p.m. EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- For three quarters, the Phoenix Suns were outclassed by the only one-win team left in the NBA.

After rallying for a one-point victory, the Suns will look to win their third straight game when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder seemed to be on their way to snapping an 11-game losing streak against Steve Nash and the Suns. But the veteran point guard scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and Matt Barnes hit a 3-pointer with 25.7 seconds left to give Phoenix the win, 99-98.

Nash also dished out 15 assists and Amare Stoudemire scored 22 as the Suns outscored the Thunder, 29-17, in the fourth quarter. Shaquille O'Neal was held out of the game and Robin Lopez collected 11 points and five rebounds in his place.

Minnesota is looking to build off its most impressive victory, a 106-80 beatdown of the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.

Randy Foye had season-highs with 23 points and 14 assists while Ryan Gomes added 20 points as the Timberwolves beat Eastern Conference playoff hopefuls Philadelphia and Detroit with a loss to Boston sandwiched over its last three games.

Al Jefferson leads Minnesota with 22.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
