LeBron, Cavs look to continue torrid pace

Nov 28, 2008 - 11:23 AM Golden State (5-10) at Cleveland (12-3) 7:30 pm EST

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Blowout wins are becoming so common for the Cleveland Cavaliers, it feels as if they barely need LeBron James to play anymore.

James and the Cavaliers aim for their fourth straight victory Friday when they host the struggling Golden State Warriors.

Cleveland beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 117-82, on Wednesday, marking the Cavs' third straight victory by at least 16 points.

The Cavaliers were so dominant against the Thunder that James needed to play for only 17 minutes and finished with 14 points.

The romp over the Thunder came one night after Cleveland crushed the New York Knicks, 119-101. James scored 26 points before sitting out the fourth quarter.

Cleveland has won 11 of its last 12 games and is 8-0 at home. The 12-3 start is the best in franchise history, surpassing 11-3 starts in 1976-77 and 1988-89.

The Warriors, on the other hand, are in the midst of a five-game road trip that is not going well. Golden State has dropped the first three games of the trek and is allowing an average of 122 points over the last two contests.

Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette combined for 62 points on Wednesday, but it was not enough to avoid a 119-111 loss to the Boston Celtics. The Warriors were out-rebounded, 47-34, by the Celtics.

A bright spot for Golden State was the play of newcomer Jamal Crawford, who scored 18 points in his second game after being acquired from the Knicks.
