Streaking Celtics shoot for seventh straight win

Nov 28, 2008 - 11:23 AM Philadelphia (7-8) at Boston (14-2), 7:30 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics look to win their season-high seventh straight game when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

Boston rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to post a 119-111 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. The 111 points allowed were a season high for the defending champion Celtics.

Ray Allen scored 25 points and Rajon Rondo had 22, eight rebounds and seven assists for Boston.

Long winning streaks are nothing new to the Celtics, who are on their second stretch of six consecutive wins. Boston had five winning streaks of at least seven games last season.

Expected to contend in the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia has hovered around mediocrity.

The Sixers dropped their second straight contest, 96-94, to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. Elton Brand scored 21 points in the loss.

Boston won three out of the four meetings with Philadelphia last season.
