Dec 5, 2022 - 1:31 PMFollowing a busy weekend, the NBA returns tonight as it begins its home stretch before Christmas with just three weeks remaining between now and then. With a full slate of action on deck for tonight, we look to bounce back following a rocky end to the week.

1. Hornets +4 (-110)
Having won three of their past five games, the Hornets are rolling for the first time this season after knocking off Milwaukee on Saturday 105-96. They’ll stay home for this game tonight, welcoming in a Clippers team who just played in Sacramento on Saturday, losing 123-96 in their worst defeat of the season.
Much like the Hornets, the Clippers have been devastated by the injury bug, most recently losing Norman Powell (groin) and already being without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Though the stars will likely get back on the floor this week, I expect a slow ramp-up in time and for the Hornets to take advantage.
2. Hawks -6 (-110)
Having most recently covered three of their past four games, this young upstart OKC team continues to cause problems for opposing teams. Most notably, led by Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, the Thunder have averaged 116.8 points per game to this point in the season, good for 6th in the NBA.
Their defense, however, has left a lot to be desired, and a facet of their game the Hawks will look to take advantage of tonight in Atlanta. Scoring 116 or more in their past two, both wins, I like for the Hawks to outgun their opponents tonight and cover this number.
3. Heat +2 (-110)
With Desmond Bane continuing to be out of the lineup with a toe injury, I think the Grizzlies continue to overachieve. Having now won four of their past five, the Grizzlies have relied on their red-hot offense, which scored 117 points or more in each of their wins.
For the Heat, they have stormed back following a slow start, having now won four of their past five also, currently sitting one game below .500. While their offense has been improving, their defense is now allowing just 110.3 points per game.
Look for them to take this one tonight as they catch the Grizzlies on their third game in the past four days.
