Morrison, Bobcats eye first back-to-back wins in 2006-07

Nov 29, 2006 - 2:38 PM Charlotte (4-10) at Atlanta (5-7) 7:00 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Adam Morrison and the Charlotte Bobcats are looking for their first back-to-back wins of the season. The Atlanta Hawks will settle for any win at this point.

The Bobcats hope to hand the fading Hawks their seventh loss in eight games when the Southeast Division rivals hook up Wednesday.

Charlotte is coming off Tuesday's 96-92 triumph at New Jersey behind some late heroics from Morrison, who scored seven of his 22 points during a decisive fourth-quarter run to help the Bobcats avoid their third consecutive defeat.

Sean May added 20 points and Primoz Brezec chipped in 13 for Charlotte, which held the Nets to only 40 percent (28-of-69) shooting and forced 14 turnovers.

Meanwhile, the Hawks have won just once since their surprising 4-1 start to the season. They absorbed a 96-95 setback against Washington on Tuesday despite 33 points from Joe Johnson, who has led the team in scoring in every game this season.

Tyronn Lue contributed 18 points and Zaza Pachulia grabbed 14 rebounds for Atlanta, but Josh Smith managed only nine points and was 3-of-16 shooting while committing five of the team's 17 turnovers.

The Bobcats won three of the four meetings between the team last season and have won six of eight all-time matchups.
