Nets carry six-game slide to Boston
Nov 29, 2006 - 4:02 PM New Jersey (5-9) at Boston (5-8) 7:30 pm ESTBOSTON (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets have been horrible of late, but it hasn't cost them much ground in the disappointing Atlantic Division.
Losers of six straight games, the Nets visit their divisional foes the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
New Jersey currently sits in second place behind Boston in what is clearly the worst division in the NBA with every team below the .500 mark.
The Nets failed to recover from their 0-5 road trip, losing 96-92 at home to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday. Richard Jefferson scored 27 points, Vince Carter added 25 and Nenad Krstic finished with 20 for New Jersey, which shot just 41 percent (28-of-69) from the field.
The Celtics stopped a two-game skid with a 111-98 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. Paul Pierce collected 34 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and Wally Szczerbiak added 21 points for Boston, which outscored Milwaukee, 65-38, after halftime.
The Nets won the 2005-06 season series, 3-1.
