Grizzlies seek consecutive wins for the first time

Nov 29, 2006 - 4:35 PM Memphis (4-10) at LA Clippers (6-7) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies haven't been able to put together a string of wins this season. They will try and end that trend on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies go in search of their first two-game winning streak as they visit Elton Brand and the struggling Los Angeles Clippers.

Hakim Warrick scored 25 points and Chucky Atkins added 22 as Memphis captured its first road win with a 108-96 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

The last time the Grizzlies had won two or more straight games was a year ago from April 15-18, during a six-game undefeated streak.

Shaun Livingston scored a career-high 20 points and Brand contributed 13 and 18 rebounds for Los Angeles, which dropped its fifth consecutive game Tuesday with a 93-80 decision at Sacramento.

The Clippers have not collected six straight losses since an eight-game winless streak during the 2004-05 campaign from February 4-23. They have suffered six losing streaks of five games or longer under Mike Dunleavy Sr.

Memphis won three of four meetings last season highlighted with an 102-86 triumph here on March 5. It holds a 25-19 advantage in the all-time series.
