Inconsistent Pistons visit Wizards

Dec 9, 2008 - 11:35 AM Detroit (11-8) at Washington (3-15), 7:00 p.m. EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Since trading point guard Chauncey Billups for Allen Iverson, the Detroit Pistons have had trouble finding some consistency.

Detroit hopes to get things going in the right direction when it visits the struggling Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

The Pistons have dropped two straight games and are just 7-8 since acquiring the nine-time All-Star guard.

Tayshaun Prince had 23 points and 10 rebounds as Detroit lost, 104-92, at New York on Sunday. Iverson scored 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting.

Getting back on track may come easier against the Wizards, who own the worst record in the Eastern Conference this season.

Washington is coming off a 117-110 setback to Chicago on Saturday, its third consecutive defeat. The Wizards are 2-5 under interim coach Ed Tapscott.

The 18-game start is the Wizards' worst since the 1966-67 campaign when they also began 3-15 as the Baltimore Bullets.

Caron Butler is scoring 21.9 points per game and Antawn Jamison is averaging 20.7 and 9.6 rebounds to lead Washington.
