Carter, Nets look to resume high-scoring ways

Dec 13, 2008 - 11:27 AM New Jersey (11-10) at Chicago (10-12) 8:30 p.m. EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Vince Carter has had some tough games in his career. Friday's debacle might be near the top of the list.

Carter will attempt to get back to his high-scoring ways when the New Jersey Nets face the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Carter entered the game against the Toronto Raptors averaging 22.3 points per game but could not find the bucket. The perennial All-Star went 0-of-13 from the floor, the first time in his career he failed to notch a field goal in more than 10 minutes of playing time.

Carter finished with three points in a 101-79 loss to the Raptors but wasn't the only Net to have a rough night. New Jersey shot 31 percent (26-of-83) from the floor, including 6-of-23 from beyond the arc.

Devin Harris and Yi Jianlian led the way with 14 points apiece.

The Bulls are coming off a 103-96 loss at Memphis. They allowed a combined 61 points in the second and third quarters to let the game -- and a two-game winning streak -- slip away.

Ben Gordon led Chicago with 26 points, nailing 7-of-11 from 3-point range. Rookie phenom Derrick Rose added 12 points and 11 assists.
