Clippers try to build off Friday's momentum as they host Rockets

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Fresh off a dramatic victory, the Los Angeles Clippers get right back on the floor Saturday for another Western Conference test.

The Clippers upset the Portland Trail Blazers on their home floor on Friday, taking control in the second overtime period en route to a 120-112 victory. Baron Davis - the team's prized free-agent acquisition this offseason - delivered the heroics, burying a game-tying 3-pointer to beat the regulation buzzer and send the game into overtime.

Davis finished with 27, while the Clippers' recent high-profile acquisition - forward Zach Randolph - registered a season-high 38 points to go with 11 boards.

Those kinds of numbers may be hard to come by as the Clippers take on one of the stingiest defensive clubs in the NBA. The Rockets are giving up about 93 points per game - fourth-best in the league. And it's not like the Clippers have much success against this team anyway - the Rockets have won seven in a row and are 19-3 in their last 22 meetings with the Clips.

They have also won four of five in the month of December and just got back their go-to guy.

All-Star Tracy McGrady - who has been nursing a sore knee - returned early Friday, scoring 24 points to lead Houston to a 119-108 triumph over the Golden State Warriors. He fell one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with nine to go with 10 rebounds.
