New lineup helping Pistons find success

Dec 17, 2008 - 11:20 AM Washington (4-18) at Detroit (13-9) 7:30 p.m. EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- A change to the starting lineup is helping the Detroit Pistons find their groove.

The Pistons aim for retribution and their third straight win on Wednesday when they host the lowly Washington Wizards.

After losing three of four games from November 30 to December 7, Detroit coach Michael Curry decided to go with a smaller lineup, inserting Rodney Stuckey as the starting point guard in place of center Kwame Brown.

The Pistons endured their third straight loss, 107-94, to the Wizards on December 9 in the first contest with the new starting five, but have posted back-to-back wins in their next two games.

Stuckey is averaging 14.7 points and 9.6 assists over the last three games. After recording 21 points and eight assists in a four-point victory against the Indiana Pacers on Friday, the 22-year-old scored 13 points and added 10 assists en route to a 90-86 triumph over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday.

Washington, which owns the worst record in the Eastern Conference, has dropped three straight games since beating the Pistons and six of its last seven overall, including a 118-98 loss to the Pacers on Monday.
