Bobcats hoping to end road struggles

Dec 19, 2008 - 2:11 PM Charlotte (8-18) at Memphis (9-16), 8:00 p.m. EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Charlotte Bobcats will try and end a five-game road losing streak when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

Charlotte is just 1-9 away from home this season with its lone victory coming in overtime at Indiana on November 28.

The Bobcats snapped a seven-game losing streak on Tuesday, coming from behind late in regulation to defeat the Chicago Bulls, 110-101, in overtime.

Rookie D.J. Augustin had a season-high 29 points and seven assists and Emeka Okafor added 20 and 13 rebounds to lead Charlotte in the win.

Memphis had its season-high four-game winning streak snapped with a 91-84 loss to New Orleans on Tuesday. The Grizzlies had scored 100 points or more in each of their four wins during the streak.

Rudy Gay scored 28 points and rookie O.J. Mayo added 20 in the loss, but the duo were the only two Grizzlies players in double figures.

The teams split the season series last season after Memphis had swept Charlotte each previous three campaigns.
