Reeling Warriors try to snap skid vs. re-tooled Bobcats

Dec 20, 2008 - 3:10 PM Golden State (7-20) at Charlotte (9-18), 7:00pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors attempt to avoid their sixth straight loss Saturday when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats..

A major reason why the Warriors are tied for last place in the Pacific Division is a woeful defense, which allows 112 points per game to tie for the worst mark in the league.

In losing their last two games, the Warriors have surrendered 115 and 127 points. They hope things will get better against the Bobcats, who average a league-low 90.0 points.

However, despite their offensive struggles for most of the season, the Bobcats may have turned a corner over the last two games. They scored 110 and 112 points, respectively, in consecutive wins over Chicago and Memphis, snapping a seven-game losing streak in the process.

Boris Diaw - acquired just last week in a trade with Phoenix - collected 26 points and 10 boards in Friday's 112-83 triumph over the Grizzlies. On the other hand, teammate Raja Bell - who came over in the same deal - has managed just 12 points in four games with Charlotte, shooting just 6-of-29 from the field.
