Celtics aim to bounce back at Warriors

Dec 26, 2008 - 11:25 AM Boston (27-3) at Golden State (8-22), 10:30 p.m. EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics lost their rematch with the Los Angeles Lakers and their franchise-record 19-game winning streak on Thursday. Fortunately, the Golden State Warriors have cured a lot of ills this season.

Boston looks to get back on track when it visits struggling Golden State on Friday.

In the first rematch of last season's NBA Finals, the Celtics suffered a 92-83 setback to the Lakers. Boston had engineered the best 29-game start to a season in history and matched the fourth-longest winning streak in the annals of the league.

Kevin Garnett scored 22 points and Paul Pierce added 20 and 10 rebounds for Boston, which had its second-lowest offensive output of the season.

Bouncing back may come easier against the Warriors, who are allowing a league-high 111.4 points per contest.

Golden State has lost seven of its last eight and is coming off a 96-88 setback to the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

C.J. Watson scored 18 points to lead the Warriors, who are returning after a 1-4 road trip.

Stephen Jackson, who is averaging 18.6 points per game, has missed the past four contests with a sprained left hand.
