Nets go for rare home win vs. Bobcats

Dec 26, 2008 - 11:24 AM Charlotte (10-19) at New Jersey (14-14) 7:30 p.m. EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- In his last game, Devin Harris added late-game heroics to the list of things he does for the New Jersey Nets.

He hopes to help turn around New Jersey's fortunes at home when it hosts the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.

With the Nets trailing the Indiana Pacers and facing a third straight loss, Harris' jumper from just inside the 3-point line gave the visitors a 108-107 victory as time expired on Tuesday.

Vince Carter scored 38 points in the contest while Harris added 29 and 11 assists. Carter netted 18 in the first quarter to keep the Nets close and set the stage for Harris.

New Jersey, which is just 5-10 at home on the season, has lost five of six on its own court.

The Bobcats have managed to win three of their last four after dropping a season-low 11 games under .500 following a seven-game losing streak.

Emeka Okafor turned in a dominant performance in Charlotte's 80-72 win over Washington on Tuesday, scoring a season-high 29 points and grabbing 18 boards - two shy of a season best.

Gerald Wallace added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Bobcats, who have had four different players lead them in scoring over their last four games.
