Knicks return home to face lowly Timberwolves

Dec 26, 2008 - 11:23 AM Minnesota (4-23) at New York (11-16) 7:30 p.m. EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks hope a healthy dose of home cooking will help them forget about their troubles on the road.

After an extended time away from home, the Knicks return to Madison Square Garden on Friday when they host the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves.

New York has played only three home games in December and six of its last seven contests have come on the road, including a season high-tying five straight.

The Knicks had won two in a row on the road swing - which began with a 105-100 loss to the Chicago Bulls on December 9 - but have dropped each of their last four games since, falling to 4-11 away from MSG this season.

New York plays four of its next five games at home where it owns a 7-5 record.

The Knicks should have little trouble against the Timberwolves, who are mired in a 13-game losing streak and have yet to earn a win this month for new coach Kevin McHale.

Minnesota's woes continued Tuesday when it dropped a 99-93 decision to the San Antonio Spurs despite 26 points and 16 rebounds from guard Randy Foye.
