ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers are playing down to their competition.

Joe Johnson scored a season-high 36 points, including 22 in the second quarter, as the Hawks opened a big lead and held on for a 99-90 victory over the Bobcats on Thursday.

Tyronn Lue scored 25 points and Josh Smith added 10 and 13 rebounds for the Hawks, who had lost two straight and seven of their last eight games.
