Red-hot Magic look to continue road success vs. Blazers

Dec 1, 2006 - 2:14 PM Orlando (12-4) at Portland (6-10) 10:00 pm EST

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) - So far, the Orlando Magic are glad that they hit the road.

Riding a five-game winning streak, the Magic will take on the Portland Trail Blazers in the third contest of a six-game road swing.

Dwight Howard had 24 points and 12 rebounds and Orlando received a spark from its reserves in a 94-84 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday. The 6-11 center showed his complete game against the Sonics, shooting a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor and 8-of-12 from the free-throw line.

However, the 20-year-old star didn't do it alone. The Magic bench outscored Seattle's reserves, 48-17, with Carlos Arroyo scoring 16 points and Darko Milicic 14.

The Magic, who opened their trip with a win over league-leading Utah on Monday, have the best record in the Eastern Conference and have a 4 1/2-game lead over the Atlanta Hawks in the Southeast Division.

Zach Randolph scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Jarrett Jack added 21 and six assists for the Trail Blazers, who dropped their third contest in a row with a 105-97 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.
