Magic aim for eighth straight win vs. Pistons

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Armed with the current longest winning streak in the NBA, the Orlando Magic will be looking for some revenge.

The Magic will be facing the team that knocked them out of the playoffs the past two seasons when they visit the Detroit Pistons.

Orlando bowed out in four games in the first round to the Pistons in the 2007 playoffs and fell in five games in the Eastern Conference semifinals last spring.

But the Magic appear to be stronger this season, winning their last seven games and sitting comfortably atop the Southeast Division. Their 24-6 record matches the best start in franchise history.

Dwight Howard leads the team, averaging 19.9 points and an NBA-best 13.6 rebounds, while three others average at least 17 points per game.

Hedo Turkoglu set the pace with 26 points and Rashard Lewis added 24 as the two combined to go 6-of-11 from 3-point range in a 118-94 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Detroit has won three in a row and is coming off an 87-76 triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. With Richard Hamilton out of the lineup, the Pistons abandoned their three-guard attack and won with stifling defense.

Hamilton is questionable for Monday with a groin strain.
