Thunder hoping to build on rare success

Jan 2, 2009 - 11:10 AM Denver (21-12) at Oklahoma City (4-29), 8:00 p.m. EST

OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- The Oklahoma City Thunder did something on Wednesday that they have rarely done all season: win a game.

Oklahoma City will try and use that momentum when it hosts the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

Jeff Green scored 26 points and Kevin Durant had 25, 10 rebounds and six assists as the Thunder posted a 107-100 victory over the Golden State Warriors. The win snapped a five-game losing streak and was the team's highest offensive output in the month of December.

The Nuggets are coming off a 114-107 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. Nene scored 21 points and Carmelo Anthony added 20 as Denver had seven players score in double figures.

Denver has won three of its last four overall and is wrapping up a four-game road trip. It opens a season-long seven-game homestand against New Orleans on Saturday.
