Suddenly surging Timberwolves to face Bulls

Jan 3, 2009 - 12:59 PM Minnesota (7-25) at Chicago (14-19) 8:30 p.m. EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Undaunted by a 13-game losing streak, the Minnesota Timberwolves may have found a winning groove.

The Timberwolves will be looking for their fourth win in five games when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Minnesota still owns one of the worst records in the NBA, but after suffering through a season-long, 13-game winning streak - that included the firing of head coach Randy Wittman - the team has shown some signs of life under interim coach Kevin McHale.

Al Jefferson collected 32 points and 10 rebounds on Friday as the Timberwolves took down the Golden State Warriors, 115-108. Ryan Gomes added 21 points and 10 rebounds and rookie Kevin Love chipped in 19 points for the win.

Minnesota is averaging 114.3 points in their last three win and has scored at least 98 points in each of its seven wins.

The Bulls have gotten crushed in their last two games by two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, Cleveland and Orlando, falling by an average of 22 points.

Rookie sensation Derrick Rose had his worst game since joining the NBA on Friday, registering a season-low three points on 1-of-6 shooting in the 117-92 loss to the Cavaliers.
