Harris questionable as Nets seek third straight home win

Jan 7, 2009 - 11:37 AM Memphis (11-24) at New Jersey (17-18), 7:30 p.m. EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets may be forced to continue their rare success at home without their most prominent floor leader.

Bothered by a strained right hamstring, point guard Devin Harris is questionable to play when the Nets host the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday in search of their third straight victory at the IZOD Center.

After sitting out Saturday's 101-96 loss to the Miami Heat, Harris left in the first half of Monday's 98-90 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Harris, the Nets' leading scorer at 23.1 points per game, suffered the injury during Friday's 93-91 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks.

New Jersey is just 7-12 at home and had lost four consecutive contests there before its recent run.

The Grizzlies, meanwhile, have been caught in a downward spiral since posting a season-high four-game winning streak. They have dropped nine of their last 11, including a 94-87 setback to the hapless Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.

O.J. Mayo is leading all rookies with 19.7 points per game and has been one of the few bright spots for Memphis, which is 2-13 on the road.
