Bulls look to post back-to-back wins

Jan 9, 2009 - 11:43 AM Washington (7-27) at Chicago (15-20) 8:30 p.m. EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The one place the Chicago Bulls have had success this season has been at the United Center. The Washington Wizards have yet to find success anywhere.

The Bulls will be looking to post back-to-back wins for the first time in a month when they host the lowly Wizards on Friday.

Chicago snapped a three-game slide and improved to 11-5 at home when it beat the Sacramento Kings, 99-94, on Tuesday. Ben Gordon scored 24 points to lead the way and the Bulls went 33-of-36 from the free-throw line to seal the win.

Gordon leads the team in scoring at 21 points per game and is knocking down 3-pointers at a 42.4 percent clip.

Even Gordon's hot hand has not been enough to stop Chicago from losing six of its last eight games. The offense has been the biggest problem, with the Bulls failing to reach the century mark in points in each of the last four games.

The Wizards should provide Chicago with another opportunity to improve its home winning percentage. Washington owns the worst record in the Eastern Conference and has had an even tougher time scoring lately than Chicago, averaging 87.5 points over the last 15 games.

This will be the Wizards' second trip of the season to the United Center. Luol Deng scored 26 points and Gordon chipped in 21 as the Bulls picked up a 117-110 win on December 6.
