Streaking Timberwolves aim for fifth straight win

Jan 10, 2009 - 11:22 AM Milwaukee (18-20) at Minnesota (10-25), 8:00 p.m. EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- After a disastrous end to 2008, the Minnesota Timberwolves have excelled in the new year.

Minnesota hopes to extend its season-high winning streak to five games when it hosts the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

The Timberwolves, who went 6-25 to start the season, are 4-0 in 2009. Minnesota had lost 13 straight games at one point earlier in the campaign.

Randy Foye matched his career-high with 32 points and Al Jefferson added 21 and 13 rebounds as Minnesota throttled Oklahoma City, 129-87, on Wednesday - its largest margin of victory this season.

Milwaukee has won nine of its past 14 and is coming off a thrilling 104-102 triumph over New Jersey on Friday. Luke Ridnour hit a runner in the lane with under one second to play to give the Bucks the win.

Michael Redd led seven Bucks players in double figures with 24 points.

It is the first meeting between the teams this season.
