Anthony, Nuggets begin three-game homestand vs. Pacers

Dec 2, 2006 - 5:27 PM Indiana (9-8) at Denver (9-5) 9:00 pm EST

DENVER (Ticker) -- The surging Denver Nuggets are in a real good groove and some home cooking might just make it even better.

Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets open a three-game homestand when the Indiana Pacers stop in for a visit on Saturday.

Anthony scored 35 points to lead all five starters in double figures for Denver en route to a 106-92 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. The Nuggets have won seven of eight games overall.

It was the 11th time in 12 outings the 22-year-old Anthony eclipsed the 30-point mark this season. He also regained the league scoring lead from Philadelphia's Allen Iverson.

On Friday, Al Harrington scored 28 points and Jermaine O'Neal had a double-double but the Pacers still fell, 105-103, on the game's final shot as time expired to the Seattle SuperSonics.

The Pacers will try to improve on their 2-2 record on this season-high six-game road trip.

Indiana has lost the last four meetings while being held under 100 points in the series. Anthony drained the game-winning shot in the last contest on March 15 to lift Denver to a 101-99 win.
