Short-handed Warriors hoping to bounce back

Jan 16, 2009 - 11:36 AM Atlanta (23-15) at Golden State (11-29) 10:30 p.m. EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors hope to avoid any hangover from their last game when they host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

The Warriors endured a wild 135-133 triple-overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday in a game that lasted two hours, 29 minutes. John Salmons finally ended the game when he drained a desperation baseline jumper with 1.6 seconds remaining.

Jamal Crawford scored 35 points and C.J. Watson added a career-high 26 for Golden State, which hasn't won consecutive games in over a month thanks in part to an injury-depleted lineup.

The Warriors were missing four regulars against the Kings, including captain Stephen Jackson (strained right hamstring), forward Brandan Wright (dislocated left shoulder) and guards Monta Ellis (left ankle surgery) and Marco Belinelli (sprained right ankle).

Losers of six of its last seven, Golden State hopes to forge a win against the Hawks, who snapped a four-game slide with a 97-80 drubbing of the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

Josh Smith led the way with 26 points and Joe Johnson added 21 for Atlanta, which never trailed.
