CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Rookie Jerryd Bayless broke out offensively on Thursday as Brandon Roy turned in his usual strong performance.

Roy and Bayless will be looking to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a winning road trip when they face the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday.

Bayless scored a career-high 23 points in 25 minutes off the bench against the New Jersey Nets, knocking down 11-of-11 free-throw attempts. The effort marked the first time the Arizona product had reached double figures in scoring in the NBA.

Roy posted 29 points and has a total of 56 in the past two contests. The All-Star guard leads the team at 22.6 points per game and is chipping in 5.2 assists as the team's primary fourth-quarter playmaker.

Portland started its four-game trip with a 109-95 win in Chicago and followed it up with a 100-79 loss at Philadelphia before dispatching the Nets on Thursday, 105-99. Bayless scored 11 of his 23 in the fourth quarter against New Jersey.

The Bobcats earned a split of their four-game series with a dramatic, 80-78, win at Detroit on Wednesday. Raymond Felton capped a 9-0 run over the final minute with a jumper from the top of the key with 0.7 seconds left.

Felton scored 23 points to lead the way and Gerald Wallace added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte.
