No. 1 pick Rose leads Bulls into Madison Square Garden

Jan 19, 2009 - 2:02 PM Chicago (18-23) at New York (15-24) 1:00 pm.

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Fans in New York will get their first look at the No. 1 overall pick of the 2008 draft on Monday when the Knicks host Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls.

Rose is second among rookies in scoring at 16.8 points, but is looking to rebound from a poor showing in Saturday's 92-87 loss to San Antonio.

The former Memphis star recorded 12 points and eight assists on 6-of-21 from the floor, and did not attempt a free throw for just the second time all season.

All eyes will be on Rose to see if he can step his game up at the "Mecca" of basketball.

Meanwhile, the Knicks are looking to snap a two-game skid. Quentin Richardson had 19 points and seven rebounds in a 107-97 loss to Philadelphia on Saturday.

New York got a boost from the return of rookie Danilo Gallinari - the sixth overall pick of June's draft - who missed the last 36 games with a sore back. Gallinari had six points in 15 minutes off the bench.

Larry Hughes scored 16 points and hit a go-ahead 3-pointer, leading the Bulls to a 105-100 win over the Knicks on December 9.
