Wolves, Sixers have same goal in mind
Dec 3, 2006 - 2:39 PM Minnesota (6-9) at Philadelphia (5-10) 6:00 pm ESTPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- One losing streak will come to an end when the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
Both clubs enter the contest mired in three-game slides.
The Timberwolves are coming off a 106-92 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday. Kevin Garnett, who had 11 rebounds, and Ricky Davis both scored 21 points, but Garnett committed seven turnovers. Mike James had 17 points for Minnesota, which lost the rebounding battle, 52-40.
The Sixers saw their consecutive loss total reach three in a row following a 112-107 setback against the New Jersey Nets on Saturday, wrapping up a three-game road trip. Allen Iverson collected 37 points, 10 assists and five steals.
Rookie Rodney Carney scored a season-high 20 points and Chris Webber, who missed the previous six games due to back problems, added 15 and 12 boards for Philadelphia, which made just 1-of-10 3-pointers.
The Sixers captured both meetings over the Wolves last season.
