Pistons look for ninth consecutive win vs. Bobcats

Dec 3, 2006 - 2:50 PM Detroit (11-5) at Charlotte (4-12) 6:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince are leading the Detroit Pistons on an incredible hot streak.

Looking for their ninth consecutive win, the Pistons face off against the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday.

Billups collected 22 points and a season-high 16 assists and Prince tied a career high with 31 points as hot-shooting Detroit held off the New York Knicks, 108-100, on Friday for their eighth consecutive win.

Billups entered the paint at will, collapsing the defense to get his teammates easy shots and shooting an efficient 8-of-9 from the floor himself. Prince benefited from his teammate's unselfish play, shooting 11-of-17 from the field and 6-of-7 from the arc, with many of his shots uncontested.

Rookie Adam Morrison scored 23 points and Brevin Knight chipped in 22 and nine assists for the Bobcats, who shot 52 percent (42-of-80) but lost for the fourth time in five games, 121-109, at Washington on Friday.

Newly acquired Derek Anderson, who signed with Charlotte earlier this week, scored 10 points off the bench in his season debut.

After losing their first two contests in Charlotte, the Pistons have won their last two matchups on the road against the Bobcats.
