Magic take six-game winning streak to Los Angeles
Dec 3, 2006 - 3:06 PM Orlando (13-4) at LA Clippers (7-8) 9:30 pm ESTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The surging Orlando Magic go for their seventh straight win during stop number four of a six-game road trip against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.
The Magic have won a season-high six consecutive overall and four in a row on the road. They escaped Portland with a 91-89 triumph on Friday.
Grant Hill, who scored 16 points against the Blazers, caught the inbounds pass from Hedo Turkoglu and put it home in one motion, leaving just three-tenths of a second on the clock.
Dwight Howard finished with 18 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks and Turkoglu added 13 and four assists for Orlando, which shot 49 percent (37-of-75) from the floor.
Meanwhile, the Clippers dropped their sixth outing in seven tries following a 97-88 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. Elton Brand and Cuttino Mobley both scored 17 points for the Clippers, who committed 18 turnovers and made just 2-of-11 3-pointers.
Orlando has dropped five of its last six meetings with the Clippers, including a two-game sweep last season.
