Hawks go for third straight victory vs. Bucks

Jan 23, 2009 - 11:21 AM Milwaukee (21-24) at Atlanta (25-16), 7:30 p.m. EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Hawks aim for their third straight victory when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.

Mike Bibby had a season-high 31 points and five steals to lead the Hawks to a 105-102 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.

However, Atlanta has struggled to maintain its excellent start because of injuries to Al Horford and Marvin Williams. After winning 11 of 15 last month, the Hawks are 4-6 in January.

Horford missed his sixth straight game with a bone bruise in his right knee and Marvin Williams, who is recovering from a concussion, sat out his second in a row.

Josh Smith, the only healthy regular on the front line, has elevated his game, though, by registering 14 rebounds in each of the Hawks' last two wins.

Milwaukee snapped a two-game skid with a 133-99 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Over the last two games, Charlie Villanueva is averaging 27.5 points and 10 rebounds for the Bucks.
