Surging Thunder visit hapless Clippers

Jan 23, 2009 - 11:21 AM Oklahoma City (9-34) at LA Clippers (9-32), 10:30 p.m. EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Oklahoma City Thunder go for their fourth win in the last five games when they visit the woeful Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

Cemented in the basement of the Western Conference for most of the season, Oklahoma City surprisingly has won six of 11 and can pass Los Angeles in the standings with a win.

Jeff Green banked in a 16-footer from the right wing at the buzzer as the Thunder won at Golden State, 122-121, on Wednesday.

Rookie Russell Westbrook scored 30 points and Kevin Durant had 27 and 12 rebounds for the Thunder, who improved to 3-17 on the road this season.

Los Angeles snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 101-92 victory over Milwaukee last Saturday, but has dropped consecutive contests.

Rookie DeAndre Jordan had a season-high 23 points and 12 rebounds in the Clippers' 108-97 setback to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. Jordan had scored 40 points all season prior to the loss.

Injuries have also piled up for the Clippers, who played their last game without big men Marcus Camby (sprained left ankle), Zach Randolph (sore left knee) and Chris Kaman (strained left arch). Starting point guard Baron Davis is also out with a bruised tailbone.
