Mavericks go for seventh straight win over Wizards
Dec 4, 2006 - 3:36 PM Dallas (12-4) at Washington (6-10) 7:00 pm ESTWASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Riding a 12-game winning streak, the Dallas Mavericks try to capture their seventh straight win over the Washington Wizards on Monday.
The Mavericks made the Wizards a victim in their tear on November 21 with a 107-80 rout in Dallas. Dirk Nowitzki collected 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Mavs, who made 14 3-pointers.
Dallas is coming off a 109-90 victory over Sacramento on Friday. Josh Howard scored 24 points and Nowitzki added 18 and 10 boards for the Mavericks, who owned a 49-38 rebounding advantage.
Meanwhile, the Wizards continued to struggle on the road, falling to 0-8 away from home after a 112-94 setback to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. Caron Butler had 21 points and 10 rebounds, but committed six turnovers and DeShawn Stevenson added 12 points.
Gilbert Arenas scored just 10 points for Washington, which has dropped five of its last seven games.
