Here are my top picks for Sunday’s slate of NBA action.

Orlando Magic vs. Charlotte Hornets

The Magic travel to Charlotte to take on a Hornet team that is having a rough season. High expectations after back to back play-in appearances have fallen flat and they look to be a major factor in the draft lottery.

The Magic have been headed in the opposite direction. After a rough start to the season, Orlando has gone 8-8 straight up in their last 16 contests, 11-5 ATS. Finally having some consistency in the lineup after navigating injuries to Wendell Carter and Markelle Fultz has turned Orlando into the kind of team Charlotte was the last two, a play-in contender.

Books haven’t properly accounted for a talented, yet young, team that is exceeding expectations. The season long 30-22-1 ATS record is one of the best in the league and the 14-12-1 ATS record on the road shows just how scrappy this team has been.

Orlando and Charlotte may rank 26th and 27th in adjusted net rating, respectively, but the gap between the two is the same as the gap between Orlando and the 16th ranked Portland. Orlando is quickly distancing themselves from the lottery dwellers and this game should be a big stepping stone for them as they look to make a push for the play-in.

Pick: 1.1u on Magic +1 (-110)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Indiana Pacers

This Central division matchup is full of All-Stars. Indiana has Tyrese Haliburton back in the lineup after a missing a few games due to injury and in his return they played two close games with the Lakers and Kings. This meeting with Cleveland will be their third game in four nights after the first two were long, hard-fought contests.

The Pacers started out the campaign by taking advantage of these third in four night situations, going 5-2 ATS. Since then, however, they’ve only covered in one of their last eight of such situations. This trend also aligns with a team that is only 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall.

Cleveland has a real chance to make noise in the Eastern Conference this year and they should finish strong unlike how they faded last year. It is games like this on the road that they need to flex their top rated adjusted defensive rating, and they should in this game. With the situational spot for Indiana, a better rested Cavalier team should take care of business and cover this contest.

Pick: 1.1u on Cavaliers -4.5 (-110)

Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks

The 76ers travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the Knicks in another episode of this historic rivalry. The 76ers are on a tear recently and have their sights set on Boston and the top of the Eastern Conference standings. They’ve gone 9-1 straight up and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games.

With both teams at full strength this game would be much closer to a toss up and I may even lean Knicks in that instance, but for this Sunday matchup I’m on Philadelphia. The loss of Mitchell Robinson cannot be overstated for the Knicks ability to defend the paint. The drop off to Jericho Sims has been massive in terms of EPM. Against the Knicks’ frontcourt Joel Embiid should have a field day.

The Knicks have surprisingly struggled at home on the season, compiling just a 10-15-2 ATS record at MSG. The 76ers should take advantage of a frontcourt that cannot defend Embiid the way he is playing, especially on national television. The 76ers are the right side here and I’m on them for Sunday.

Pick: 1.1u on 76ers -5.5 (-110)
