Grizzlies look to continue Clippers' woes

Feb 6, 2009 - 11:20 AM LA Clippers (10-39) at Memphis (13-35), 8:00 p.m. EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies appear to have put their losing streak behind them. The Los Angeles Clippers just continue to pile up losses.

Memphis looks to hand Los Angeles its eighth straight defeat on Friday.

Following a 12-game losing streak, the Grizzlies have recorded back-to-back wins, including Wednesday's 104-93 victory over the Houston Rockets.

Rookie O.J. Mayo scored 32 points and Rudy Gay had 18 in the win, which was the team's first on its home floor since January 4.

The Clippers, who lost 12 consecutive contests earlier this season, are suffering through their third skid of at least six games. Los Angeles has lost by an average of 20.3 points during this seven-game slide.

Los Angeles was blown out at Orlando on Wednesday, falling, 125-96. Al Thornton scored 27 points.

The contest is the fifth on the Clippers' season-high seven-game road trip.
