Pistons look to hand Blazers sixth straight loss
Dec 5, 2006 - 1:56 PM Portland (6-12) at Detroit (11-6) 7:30 pm ESTAUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons try to hand the Portland Trail Blazers their sixth loss in a row on Tuesday.
The Pistons have a relatively easy home game prior to going on a four-game road trip that starts in Dallas and continues in Orlando - two of the league's hottest teams - while the Blazers are beginning a six-game trek.
Detroit saw its eight-game winning streak disappear with a 97-89 defeat to Charlotte on Sunday. Rasheed Wallace scored 19 points and Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton both added 17 for the Pistons, who allowed the Bobcats to shoot 49 percent (37-of-75).
Zach Randolph netted 30 points and Martell Webster added 18 but the Trail Blazers had their losing streak pushed to five games Sunday with a 107-96 setback to the Atlanta Hawks.
Rookie Sergio Rodriguez had a season-high 11 assists for Portland, which committed 21 turnovers.
The Pistons have won five of their last six meetings with the Blazers.
