Clippers look to start another home winning streak

Dec 5, 2006 - 2:29 PM Miami (7-9) at LA Clippers (8-8) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers look for their second straight triumph at the Staples Center when they host the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

After dropping just their second home game of the season, 97-88, to the crosstown rival Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, the Clippers rebounded with an easy 116-91 triumph over the Orlando Magic on Sunday.

Elton Brand led the Clippers, who are 8-2 at home, with 31 points, while Tim Thomas added 20 and Corey Maggette finished with 17.

The Heat have won three of their last four and try to build off a 98-97 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. James Posey was the hero for Miami, sinking a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 23 points and Antoine Walker finished with 18.

On Monday, reigning NBA Finals MVP Wade was named Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year.
