Nuggets aim to rebound from embarrassing defeat

Feb 10, 2009 - 3:01 PM Denver (34-17) at Miami (27-23), 7:30 p.m. EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets are hoping the rest of their road trip does not resemble their last game.

Denver looks to bounce back from its worst loss of the season when it visits the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

After winning the first two games of its season-high eight-game road trip, Denver was embarrassed by New Jersey on Saturday, 114-70. It was Denver's first loss by more than 18 points this season.

Carmelo Anthony was the only player in double figures with 15 points for the Nuggets, who trailed by 20 at the break and by 37 after three quarters.

Miami snapped its brief two-game slide with a 96-92 victory over Charlotte on Sunday.

Despite suffering a cut that required six stitches, Dwyane Wade scored 22 points to lead the Heat. Rookie Mario Chalmers added 16 and 13 assists for Miami, which shot 56 percent (42-of-75) from the floor.

Anthony missed the first meeting between the teams, but Denver still pulled out a 108-97 victory at home on January 7.
