Spurs look for revenge against lowly Bobcats

Dec 6, 2006 - 3:12 PM San Antonio (13-5) at Charlotte (5-12) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs have not lost often this season. But on Wednesday, they will get a chance to atone for one of those rare defeats.

Coming off a huge offensive performance in their last game, the Spurs hit the road to take on the Charlotte Bobcats.

On November 15, rookie Adam Morrison scored a season-high 27 points and Emeka Okafor added 19 as the Bobcats posted a surprising 95-92 overtime victory over San Antonio. Raymond Felton had 17 points and eight rebounds for Charlotte, which shot 44 percent (40-of-92) from the field to snap a four-game losing streak.

The loss to the Bobcats was the Spurs' only defeat in a 10-game stretch between November 5-22. In Wednesday's rematch, San Antonio will have a lot of momentum after recording its highest point total of the season.

Brent Barry scored 18 points, Tim Duncan added 15 and Ginobili handed out nine assists - one shy of his career high - as the Spurs took control in the first quarter, paving the way for an easy 129-89 victory over Golden State.

On Sunday, Emeka Okafor scored 18 points to pace five players in double figures as Charlotte posted a 97-89 triumph over Detroit. Sean May scored 17 points off the bench while fellow reserve Matt Carroll added 16. Raymond Felton scored 15 points, reserve Derek Anderson chipped in 11 points and Brevin Knight dished out a season-high 14 assists for the Bobcats, who shot 49 percent (37-of-75).

Prior to its win this season, Charlotte dropped its first four contests against San Antonio.
