Suns look to bounce back against Bobcats

Feb 24, 2009 - 11:20 AM Charlotte (22-34) at Phoenix (31-24), 9:00 p.m. EST

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- After torching the nets in interim coach Alvin Gentry's first three games, the Phoenix Suns got a little dose of reality on Sunday.

The Suns hope to bounce back when they host the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday, a contest that marks the return of Boris Diaw and Raja Bell to Phoenix.

Phoenix became the first team in over 18 years to score 140 or more points in three straight games last week before it was dismantled in a 128-108 setback against Boston.

Rajon Rondo scored a career-high 32 points and had 10 assists as the Celtics shot 63 percent (46-of-73) from the floor in the win.

The Bobcats opened a five-game road trip with a 99-78 loss at the Houston Rockets on Sunday. Diaw, Raymond Felton and Emeka Okafor each scored 13 points to lead Charlotte in defeat.

Diaw is averaging 14.4 points with Charlotte, which traded Jason Richardson and Jared Dudley for he and Bell on December 11.

Charlotte won the first meeting this season, 98-76, on January 23 to improve to 1-8 all-time against Phoenix.
