Bobcats have high hopes for first win in Sacramento

Feb 25, 2009 - 11:27 AM Charlotte (22-35) at Sacramento (12-46) 10:00 p.m. EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- The Charlotte Bobcats have a good chance of ending a trio of losing streaks on Wednesday when they visit the lowly Sacramento Kings.

The Bobcats suffered their third straight loss, a 112-102 setback to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday in the second contest of a five-game road trip.

It was the seventh consecutive road loss for Charlotte, which hasn't forged a win away from home since claiming a shocking 117-110, double-overtime victory against the Western Conference-leading Los Angeles Lakers on January 27.

While they have never earned a win at Arco Arena, losing all four of their previous meetings there, and are averaging an NBA-low 92.2 points per game, the Bobcats could finally end those droughts on Wednesday.

The Kings, who own the worst record in the NBA, have surrendered at least 100 points in 19 of their last 20 contests and are allowing an average of 115.9 points per game over that span.

Sacramento continued to spiral downward on Monday, dropping a 112-105 decision to the New Orleans Hornets, its second straight loss and 16th in the last 18 games.
